Dec. 12, 1974 - Women who tried to stop armed bandits receives the Binney Bravery Award; Mrs. Jessie Burns, 37, a barmaid, from Dalaton, London, stood in front of gateway car outside a builders yard in Hackney, London, last April, and shock her fist at it after a6, 500 office raid by armed bandits, one of whom fixed shots at her, but they were blanks, although at that time she did not know. Yesterday Mrs. Burns was presented with the Binney Medal for civilian heroism by the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Murray Fox at London's Goldsmiths Hall.
