Jan. 01, 1975 - Skyjacker Held After Airport Drama. A skyjacker who seized a BAC 1-11 jet airliner on a flight from Manchester to London, was overpowered after a successful bluff. The man, armed with what turned out to be a dummy pistol, held the crew hostage for eight hours at Heathrow Airport, having demanded £, 100, 000 and be flown to Paris. Instead the plane flew to Stansted Airport in Essex, where he was overpowered as he left the plane.
