Feb. 02, 1976 - The Lockheed pay-off scandal. Assistant District Attorney Llario Martella ordered the arrest of Camillo Crociani, who resigned as President of Finmeccanica, the state holding company for engineering firms. He quit after learning the board was about to fire him for his links to companies charged as go-betweens for the Lockheed Aircraft Co. Crociani, whom police said has probably left Italy, was under investigation on suspicion of participating in bringing unidentified Italian civil servants.
