Apr. 05, 1978 - Trial about exorcism: The trial which opened recently at the Superior Court in Aschaffenburg. West Germany, was a case of exorcism, in which 23 year old Annelises Michel died in 1976. She was a student, living in Klingenburg, a little town in Franconia, and an epileptic, but she and her parents thought she was possessed by the devil. In 1975 Josef Stangl, Bishop of Wurzburg entrusted the two catholic priests Ernst Alt and Wilhelm Renz, to exorcise the devil with the canonical orders of the Ritule Romanum of 1614. On July 1st 1976 the emaciated girl died of a circulatory disturbance, as her parents neglected to call for a doctor.
