Oct. 10, 1977 - Andreas Baader And His Girlfriend Gudrun Kill Themselves In Jail. Andreas Baader, 34, the leader of the Red army faction, the terrorist gang known as the Baader-Meinhof group and his girlfriend Gudrun Ensslin, 37, who became co-leader with Baader after the suicide in prison last year of Ulrike Meinhof, killed themselves in the prison at Stuttgart where they are serving life.
