Cuba - Dominican Republic - Haiti
Aug. 07, 1955 - A large locomotive was christened with the name of the Cuban president, Fulgencio Batista, on Sunday at Kieler station. The locomotive was made in Germany. It is the first of 38 which machine-builder A.G. in Kiel should deliver. The christening was done by Madame Canal, the spouse of the Cuban ambassador in Bonn. Outside of representatives of the Cuban government, the son of the president himself, Ruben Batista, was also present. Our picture shows Madame Canal and Ruben Batista wishing the engineer of the locomotive a good journey
