Sep. 09, 1958 - Commodore of the Cunard fleet retires. Master of the queen Elizabeth: Commodore Charles S. Williams of the count Fleet - master of the Queen Elizabeth -left the liner today to retire at the end of 39 years service. He joined the line in 1919.
