Mar. 03, 1969 - Queen Elizabeth 2 Goes Into Dry Dock After Trials: The Queen Elizabeth 2 moving into dry dock last night at Southampton at the end of four days of technical trials in the Channel. It took nearly an hour to secure her in the 135-ft wide dock and at one point she scraped her side before being nudged into the centre. The turbines, which behaved perfectly will be opened up and inspected while the hull is scraped and cleaned
