Cunard liner, Queen Elizabeth II
1969 - Queen Elizabeth 2 Back From Proving Voyage: The 29, 500, 000 liner Queen Elizabeth 2, arrived back at Southampton yesterday at the end of a triumphant eight-day proving voyage to the tropics. Cunard will now take formal delivery on April 18. The Q.E.2 will make an eight-day preview cruise on April 22, calling at Las Palmas, Teneriffe and Lisbon, and her maiden westbound crossing to New York on May 2.
