Sep. 09, 1968 - New Cunarder nears completion: Expert technicians are seen testing during the final stages of completing the main control room of the new 65, 000-ton Cunarder Queen Elizabeth 2, yesterday, in the fitting out basin of Clydebank Division of the Upper Clyde Shipbuilders Ltd, Glassgow, Scotland. The main commissioning programme is well under way for her mini-maiden voyage on January 10 next year and her maiden westbound trans-Atlantic trip on January 17th
