Sep. 09, 1968 - New Cunarder nears completion: The new Cunard liner, Queen Elizabeth 2, is now nearing completion in the fitting out basin at Clydebank. The 65, 000 ton vessel, launched by the Queen exactly a year ago, will be ready for the transatlantic service early in 1969.
