Jun. 06, 1967 - Fifth emergency special session begins debate receives Soviet Proposal. United Nations, New York, 19 June 1967: The General Assembly began debate this morning on the Soviet letter on the situation in the Middle East, hearing statements by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union, Aleksei N. Kosygin, and by the Foreign Minister of Israel, Abba Eban. Statements under the right of reply were made by the representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
