Dag Hammarskjold, UN Secretary General, in London

Dec. 31, 1954 - Mr. Hammarskjold Arrives in London en route to Pekin. To have talks with chouen lai in China. Mr. Hammarskjold the united Nations secretary general arrived at London airport this morning from the united states. He is accompanied by four members of his staff - and they are on way to Pekin for a meeting with Chosen - Lai P.M of the Chinese Republic - in an effort to Obtain the peaceful release of united states and other personnel held in captivity in China. Photo shows Mr. Hammarskjold - on his arrival at London Airport this morning. he is expected to have a meeting with Mr. Eden before proceeding on his Journey - which is expected to be via Paris and India
