Apr. 18 When Salome dances before the Negus: Like Salome of Biblical times, who enchanted King Herod by her fascinating maddening dance, driving him out of his senses and forcing him to offer her, on a silver plate, the head of John the Baptist, decapitated in response to her command, Salome of our times, a striptease dance named Cazinia, in a Beirut, Lebanon, night club, chose to exercises her spell on none less than a ferocious king of the beasts, a lion named The Negus, captive under iron bars of a cage shown on the stage of the club before an amazed audience. Night after night, Cazinia, under the eyes of the lion, starts to stip her clothes off until she is almost naked. The Negus too, is well trained to play his role. It begins by paicng a round a small table on the stage, then it jumps onto the table and sits gazing at the fascinating beauty. By way of defence, Cazinia holds in her hand a whip to keep the lion at a distance-just in case, The daring dancer fears however, that perhaps one day. The negus may proves itself a beast after all.
