Daredevils - Stunts
May 05, 1956 - Stunt Man Burned When Trick Goes Wrong: Escapologist James Crossini came near to death yesterday, when his act of being suspended 50 feet up in a burning straight jacket went wrong. Dranching rain had locked the webbing knots in the straight-jacket. Watchers heard him scream; Get me down, I'm burning to death Rescuers lowered him to the ground, and a doctor in the crowd treated him whilst his jacket was cut away. He later carried on with the show. Photo shows. With his bandaged after his escape-James Crossini carries on with his act-in Manchaster yesterday
