1959 - TO CROSS THE ATLANTIC BY MOTOR LAUNCHES. Two American Air Force officers will leave Lowestoft on Saturday to cross the Atlantic in small -.motor launches. LT. OCL. RICHARD WILLSIE, from Long Beach, California will be in his launch Lightning - and a crew of two, and MAJOR HOWARD REYNOLDS will be in an ex-Admiralty barge, Saralinde with a crew of throe U.S. Servicemen. Both the officers, who are carried, have been stationed for the past fair years at Bentwaters Air Base, Suffolk.
