Aug. 08, 1975 - Stunt Girl Mary Connors Fails once Again In An Attempt To Catapault Herself Across The River Avon: 22-year-old stunt girl Mary Connors who last year failed in an attempt to shoot herself across the River Avon using a human cannon, today made another attempt, this time using a type of catapault working on the principal of the Roman Stone-throwers which were used to hurl boulders over castle walls - but once again the attempt failed and she landed in the river at Breakingstone Meadow, Twekesbury, Gloucestershire.
