1967 - World record price for Picasso Painting 192, 000 at Sotheby: A world record was paid this morning for a Picasso painting at the Sotheby auction of Modern Paintings and Sculptures. The painting called A woman and her child which was painted by Picasso in Barcelona in 1902 during what is now called Picasso's Blue period.
