Oct. 10, 1963 - New Sculpture in Aluminium; David Wynne who is seen on a ladder in the picture, has nearly completed his statue of Fire which he has done for Lewis's store in Hanley, in the industrial pottery area of the Midlands. The statue simulates fire, which Wynne sees as the element underlying the work done by the people in the Hanley area. Photo Shows David Wynne with his 45ft high statue which is being produced in aluminium at a London foundry over a period of nine weeks
