Aug. 08, 1953 - Egyptian dancer shot.: 26-year old Egyptian dancer, Dawlath Solinan, who left the Nile for Europe's night clubs and for whom claims were made that she was King Farouk's favourite dancer - was dancing in a bar in Munich, when a gunman fired at her and wounded her in the shoulder. the gunman escaped. Dawlath, now known as the favourite ex-favourite dancer of ex-King Farouk, is expected to dance again in a few days.
