Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis sing duet, Palladium

Mar. 31 One of the few serious moments in the act when Dean Martin (left) and Jerry Lewis sing a tuneful duet. Martin and Jewis are howling success at Palladium. Putting on one of the noisiest and craziest turns the Palladium has ever seen, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis scored a tremendous success at the start of their two weeks appearance. Stars of eight Paramount films, Martin and Lewis are also incomparable theatre and night club entertainers, while their gramophone records also have an international following. Martin started his theatrical career as a dance band singer while Lewis started by miming to gramphone records. In 1946 while they were both working at the 500 club in Atlantic City, they teamed up. Threatened with the sack if they did not get laughs the two boys went haywire with ad-lib wisecracker, crazy antics and wild comedy the audience loved it and instead of being sacked they were offered a further engagement. They are being described as a combination of the keystone cops, the Marx brothers and Abbott and Costello
