Death of Vladimir Simeonov, Bulgarian broadcaster

Feb. 02, 1978 - Death Riddle of Vladimir Simeonov : Friend of murdered Bulgarian defector Georgi Markov - Vladimir Simeonov was found dead at his London home yesterday. Scotland Yard's anti-terrorist squad have launched an investigation because of the similarities between the two deaths. Both were defectors from the Bulgarian Communist regime amd both worked for the World Service of the BBC. Markov died after being injected with a poisoned pellet fired from an umbrella. Mr Simeonov's body was found in his Plaistow flat. It was stated that he had fallen down some stairs which broke his nose, he then choked to death by inhaling blood. An X-ray film of the body was being examined today to see if his death had been caused by a poisoned pellet like his friend Markov.
