Deborah Perryman, Miss Pears of 1967
Jul. 11, 1967 - Miss Pears 1967: Mrs. Perryman, of Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, Middlesex, has a lovely daughter. In fact, four-year old Deborah must be the loveliest in the United Kingdom, now she was today (July 11) crowned Miss Pears 1967. The ceremony took place at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London and Deborah was given her crown and a cheque for £500 by Stanley Holloway. Mr. Holloway was an appropriate celebrity to make the presentation. Not only did he create the original part of Eliza Doolittle's father in My Fair Lady at Drury Lane, but he is currently co-starring in a film called Mrs. Brown, You have a Lovely Daughter'. Held annually to find the prettiest little girl in the United Kingdom, the Miss Pears competition this year attracted 73, 826 entries.
