Jun. 06, 1932 - At the eve of the Democratic Party National Convention in Chicago, Roosevelt supporters announced their intention to abrogate the two thirds rule, and to nominate FDR by simple majority. Senator Huey Long of Louisiana delivered a loud yawp for the same thing. FDR stopped this move because the issue was not raised until after the delegates to the Convention had been selected
