Demonstration by building workers in Amsterdam

Jun. 06, 1966 - Police fire on demonstrating building workers in Amsterdam. Police fired on building workers demonstrating near the Royal Palace in Amsterdam today. Six people were wounded. The workers, angered by the death of a plasterer last night after police clashed with the workers protesting about a cut in the summer holiday bonus. Earlier they rampaged through the city, burning a lorry and smashing windows of a newspaper office. Photo shows A newspaper lorry is set on fire by the demonstrators in Amsterdam today
