Jun. 06, 1959 - Runaground X - three service demonstration. Waterproofed Centurion tank. More than 1, 000 men are taking part in Runaground X the amphibious demonstration at Eastney, Portsmouth today. The demonstration is designed to shows Staff college students some of the problems of amphibious operations - and includes helicopter assault, seaborne landing and cliff assault. Photo shows a four wheeled army runabout - which has been waterproofed - undergoes its tests during the operation today
