Mar. 03, 1955 - Demonstration of the Conqueror tank. A demonstration of the new Conqueror tank was held today at the Fighting Vehicle Research and Development Establishment, at Chobham, Surrey. The tank weighs 65 tons and the length of the hull with gun is 39 feet. It has a maximum road speed of 20 mph. The first Conqueror tanks will be leaving shortly for BAOR where they will undergo extensive troop trials.
