Demonstration of Fireflair rescue launch, River Thames

Mar. 03, 1964 - New Fire Float Of The Kent Fire Brigade: A 66 ft Launch formerly belonging to the RASC has been taken over jointly by the Kent and Essex County Councils and named Fireflair'. It is fitted with a radio link with both county fire brigades and is to be based at Gravesend - and will supply improved fire cover to shipping and to riverside to property owners from Brits to the Estuary craft. It was a demonstrated this afternoon and is also fitted with radar. Photo Shows Fireflair laying foam on the surface of the River Thames during today's demonstration
