Demonstration flight of Sikorsky helicopter, London to Paris
1970 - Demonstration Helicopter Flight from London to Paris. The United States Marines loaned a Sikorsky S-65 helicopter, to carry over 30 aviation VIPs from Battersea Heliport, on a demonstration flight to Issy-les-Moulineaux, in Paris, to shows its potential as a commercial airliner for short haul service. The S-65 helicopter can demonstrate the feasilibilty of economic air travel between the centres of these two cities in less than one and a half hours. Photo shows Sergei I.
