Demonstration of Gnat Mark II vehicle, Bagshot, Surrey

Feb. 02, 1969 - THE GO-ANYWHERE GNAT CROSS COUNTRY VEHICLE. The Gnat Mark II is a go-anywhere, three-wheeled, lightweight cross country vehicle, manufactured and marketed by the Gnat Productions Division of Aimers Mclean and Co. Ltd, at Pinnacle Hill Industrial Estate, Kelso, Roxburghshire. At the recommended retail price of £410, it is less in first cost than a tractor or field car. Powered by a 10 hp four stroke engine, this 400 lb. vehicle fills the recognised gap that has existed for many years between field cars or tractors and the humble pony. The agile Gnat carries men and cargo over broken ground, bogs and steep gradients up to one in one, enabling previously inaccessible land to be reached with working loads. Its low height, 36 inches, makes it useful under the branches of trees in fruit orchards.
