May 05, 1960 - The Hovercraft shows off its paces on the River Thames in London. Demonstration for MPs and Commonwealth Prime Ministers: The SR-N1 Hovercraft showed off its paces this afternoon on the River Thames in front of the Houses of Parliament for MPs and Commonwealth Prime Ministers assembled there. The demonstration is hoped to clear the way for its eventual use for commercial and other purposes'. Photo shows looking down on the Hovercraft as she passes beneath Westminster Bridge, showing the newly fitted rear auxiliary jet engine, which looks rather like a harpoon gun, during the demonstration this afternoon
