May 05, 1960 - The Hovercraft shows off its paces on the River Thames in London. Demonstration for MPs and Commonwealth Prime Ministers: The SR-N1 Hovercraft showed off its paces this afternoon on the River Thames in front of the Houses of Parliament for the benefit of MPs and Commonwealth Prime Ministers assembled there. The demonstration is hoped to clear the way for its eventual use for commercial and other purposes'. This is the first public showing of the craft since the Farnborough Air Show last year.
