Demonstration of howitzer at School of Artillery, Larkhill

Sep. 09, 1976 - The International Acceptance Of The FH70 1855 MM Field Howitzer At The Royal School Artillery - Larkhill: There was a demonstration today of the FH70 155 mm Field Howitzer at the Royal School of Artillery at Larkhill, Salisbury. The FH70 project started as a bilateral agreement between the UK and Germany in 1966. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in 1968 and development commenced that year. In 1969 Italy joined the project and, though not responsible for any development work, has contributed to development costs and will share in production. The development costs were 30 million and each gun costs 300, 000. Photo shows The British gun crew go into action with the FH70 during today's acceptance ceremony at Larkhill
