Demonstration of Kendo by Yasuji Nakajima of Japan

Mar. 27 Anyone for Kendo? The world's most exclusive and most Dangerous Sport: Japanese master Yasuji Nakajima who is visiting London, gave a demonstration of Kendo, the world's most exclusive and most dangerous sport. It is so dangerous that beginners must use bamboo for the first four of five years of training. So dangerous that only two men in the world - both Japanese - may practise it competitively. Mr. Nakajima who has studied the ancient sport since he was a child in Tokyo, was assisted in the demonstration by Ronald Enufsen, a Londoner, who is one of the few Western experts on Kendo. The blade, so sharp that it can slice a man in two like butter, is halted a split second before it strikes the opponent, the mind carries the cut right on through him. Photo shows Yasuji Nakajima brings down his sword to within an inch of Ronald Enutsen's head during the demonstration of Kendo in London
