Aug. 08, 1977 - 200 Demonstrators Arrested During the Violence In Big London March In Lewisham South London: About 200 demonstrators were arrested and over 55 were injured in violent clashes the Lewisham march in South London today. Taking part were the National Front in Supporters in one march and members of the socialist Workers Party in the other, and they were determines to stop them from marching. The two sides met and violence broke which also involved 4, 000 police. Photo Shows Police with their defensive shields, which was the first time they had been used in England
