Demonstration of lifesaving stretcher ladder, London

Jul. 07, 1957 - Demonstration Of Unique Life-Saving Stretcher-Ladder: A revolutionary life-saving stretcher-ladder, evolved by the Gloucester Aircraft Company - was demonstrated in London this morning. It is ideal for lowering casualties from upper windows or the side of a ship - can be tilted to pass through narrow openings and is ideal for mountain rescue. The stretchers can be joined together to make ladders of different lengths. They are extremely light and can be packed into confined spaces. Photo shows a casualty pulled through a small hole with the aid of the stretcher which can be twisted to any angle. It is very light and solid
