Demonstration of lifesaving stretcher ladder, London

Jul. 17, 1957 - 17-7-57 Demonstration of unique lifesaving stretcher ladder. A revolutionary lifesaving stretcher-ladder evolved by Gloucester Aircraft Company, was demonstrated in London this morning. It is ideal for lowering casualties from upper windows or the side of a ship, can be tilted to pass through narrow openings and is ideal for mountain rescue. The stretchers can be joined together to form a lightweight ladder. They are extremely light and can be packed into confined spaces. Keystone Photo shows: Three stretchers joined together to form a strong lightweight ladder, capable of taking the combined weight of rescuer and rescued, during the demonstration this morning
