Demonstration of new micro-endoscope looking into altimeter
Mar. 03, 1964 - Demonstration Of New Micro-Endoscope: A demonstration was given in London today, of the new Opteo Universal Endoscope System which incorporates a major advance in the lighting of endoscope fields, brilliant quartz rod transmission of light. The new system overcomes the difficulties normally experienced with endoscopes where there are limitations of light owing to the size of the bulb, and problems of heat from the bulb if the light energy is increased and the disadvantage of having the bulb in front of the lens. The new process produces a 3mm beam of light from a 100 watt bulb down a solid quartz rod to provide light for the telescope without heat, for viewing confined spaces.
