Demonstration in Red Lion Square, London

Jun. 06, 1974 - One Dead and Many Injured in London demonstration. 39 police and six demonstrators were injured in Red Lion Square on Saturday, when police with truncheons and mounted police moved in to prevent a clash between Left wing and Right wing groups. The trouble began during a counter demonstration march to Red Lion Square by marchers of the Liberation Movement, against the planned meeting in Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, by the Right wing National Front, who were protesting against the Home Secretary's decision to grant an amnesty to illegal immigrants.
