Demonstration against sacking of Gough Whitlam, Sydney

Nov. 11, 1975 - Gough Whitlam is Sacked in Australian Crisis: Australia's Governor-General, Sir John Kerr, today sacked the Labour Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam and named Opposition leader Malcolm Fraser to lead a caretaker Government pending General Elections in December. Australians reacted angrily to Mr. Whitlam's dismissal and Demonstrators took to the streets carrying banners calling for the removal of Sir John Kerr from his post.
