1966 - No Crossing Protest: Pram pushing mothers joined in a protest road crossing demonstration in Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent yesterday from 8 am until 9 am they marched to and fro across the busy road, carrying placards and delaying the morning rush hour drivers. They were protesting against the removal of a Panda crossing which they say has increased the accident rate at this busy point
