Jun. 06, 1959 - Thunderbird surface to air weapon system demonstration: Troops were operating but not actually firing the Thunderbird, a medium to high altitude surface to air guided weapon system, which has been developed for the Field Army, at a demonstration of Surface to Air Weapon Systems, at the School of Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Manorbier, South Wales. Photo shows the Thunderbird, after being assembled and tested, is hauled out of the field assembly and test point to be loaded by crane onto a launcher loader
