Sep. 09, 1960 - The Army To Test Vigilant - A Wire Guided Anti-Tank Missile: It has been announced that the Vigilant, a wire-guided anti-tank missile with a range of one mile, has been ordered by the War Office for assessment trials. The Vigilant has been under development at a private center by Guided Weapons (Aircraft) Ltd. for the past three years and so far cost about, 000, 000. It is primarily an infantryman's weapon and weighs about 451 lbs with its box which can be carried by one man.
