Nov. 11, 1952 - AFRICANS BURN DOWN MISSION. After a day of tension in East London, South Africa, following the recent riots in which seven Africans and two Europeans, including a nun, died - Africans burned down the St. Peter Claver Mission. Damage to Roman Catholic buildings is estimated at between £40, 000 and £50, 000.
