Jan. 01, 1956 - Housewives March To Smithfield. Jeering Porters: London housewives marched to Smithfield Market this morning in support of the actions of Mr. David Dukrrant who claims the right to purchase meat without having to use the Smithfield meat porters. The use of the porters - when not needed - builds up the cost of the meat.
