Oct. 10, 1957 - Down with the guard say the local lade at Windsor. The burned cor dona fire claim. youngsters in Windsor were last night up-in-arm against Grenadian Guards units stationed in the area. They were to be seen carrying banners reading Down with the Guards -etc. etc. For they are convinced that the guards were responsible for the burning down of the bonfire - a 40ft. high pile - which they had constructed for guy Fawkes night. The c.o of the units has requested guards Volunteers to replace the bonfire. photo shows Down with the guards reads the placard held by the treat youngsters at Windsor
