Jun. 06, 1961 - Uproar at the Annual meeting of the R.S.P.C.A at Kingsway Hall: The annual meeting of the Royal Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals held at Kingsway Hall, London, yesterday, broke up in defeating shouts and jeers as police tried to move a woman who was lying on the platform. It was the biggest row ever to face the Society over its policy of refusing to press for foxhunting to be banned. Photo shows two plain clothes policemen try to remove 56 year old Miss Gwendolen Barter, of Broad stairs, from the platform where she was lying in protest against the Society's refusal to press for foxhunting to be earned
