Demonstrations
Mar. 28, 1961 - Demonstrator squats on nuclear sub?s tailfin ? An anti-Polaris demonstrator sat above the waves on the tailfin of America?s nuclear submarine ?Patrick Henry? for 45 minutes yesterday in the Holy Loch. He stayed there until he was taken off by police. He was one of the three commandos who boarded the vessel in defiance of warnings to keep clear. One of the men was pulled from a canoe up the side of the submarine by a sailor and then slumped into ?passive resistance? drill. The second went alongside the sub and was pulled aboard, the third sat on the tailfin. Keystone Photo Shows: One of the demonstrators, sitting on the submarine?s tailfin, in the Holy Loch yesterday.
