Jan. 01, 1965 - Royal Visit court STC med st. rioters. Demonstrators struggle with Police: A rioting men injured police, hurled a petrol bomb and overturned a squad car outside the court at Mountmellick. County Lair. Inside the court police and prisoners fought and struggled on the floor the dock was smashed windows broken and a door nearly torn off it hinges. The fighting began when 10 young man, arrested during Princess Margaret's visit to Ireland's fortnight ago came before the court. They were charged with unlawful assembly and cutting down trees during the Royal visit. Photo shows a petrol bomb was hurled and the prisoners bus set on fire during the riots at Mountmellick, County Leix
