Dec. 12, 1966 - VOLUNTEERS FOR PEACE IN VIETNAM. Bishop Ambrose Reeves former Anglican Bishop of Johannesburg; A.J. Muste (veteran American pacifist); Rabbi Abraham L. Fainberg-from Toronto and Dr. Martin Niemeller from West Germany one of the Presidents of the World Council of Churches, are going to Hanoi under the aegis of an Ad Hoc Committee called Volunteers For Peace In Vietnam, the International Confederation For Disarmament And Peace and the War Resisters International. This group who leave on January 2 is going to Hanoi to gather detailed and authoritative information and to demonstrate by their presence that they condemn the American attack on Vietnam, particularly the bombing. In exposing themselves to the same risk as the people of Vietnam they hope to bring home to the public, especially in the United States, what is happening in North Vietnam and to make the consequences of the outcome of the war, for the people of Vietnam, understood.
